Featured Collection: Partial Differential Equations in Applied Sciences

This special issue contains several relevant contributions to the study of some classes of boundary value problems driven wither by various differential operators or by integro-differential operators. In this way, the content of this volume is at the interplay between local and nonlocal phenomena in applied sciences. The papers are concerned with sufficient conditions for the existence of solutions, multiplicity properties of solutions, qualitative and quantitative aspects, as well as with numerical approaches.

The collection has been curated by guest editor Maria Alessandra Ragusa and Editor in Chief Vicentiu Radulescu.

Aims and scope

The main aim of Boundary Value Problems is to provide a forum to promote, encourage, and bring together various disciplines which use the theory, methods, and applications of boundary value problems. Boundary Value Problems will publish very high quality research articles on boundary value problems for ordinary, functional, difference, elliptic, parabolic, and hyperbolic differential equations. Articles on singular, free, and ill-posed boundary value problems, and other areas of abstract and concrete analysis are welcome. In addition to regular research articles, Boundary Value Problems will publish review articles.

Meet the Editors in Chief

Kanishka Perera is a professor at Florida Institute of Technology, USA. His current research interests are in variational and topological methods in nonlinear partial differential equations.

Featured article: "Three positive solutions for a nonlinear partial discrete Dirichlet problem with (p,q)-Laplacian operator"

This paper is concerned with the qualitative analysis of solutions for a class of discrete double phase problems. The authors are mainly concerned with multiplicity properties of solutions. This analysis is performed by combining critical point theory with the strong maximum principle. In this way, the authors obtain sufficient conditions for the existence of at least three positive solutions.
